Our History

Founded by Chicago-based entrepreneur, David Carmell, STARTUP ROCKiT was created to "level the playing field" and be the first-of-its-kind digital solution offering the tools for businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors to interact and transact in unprecedented ways. While app developers, investors and entrepreneurs have changed the dating game, no one has managed to tackle a way to match and connect like-minded individuals and businesses in a one-stop-shop for launching and scaling businesses and ventures until now. What started as an idea to connect the startup ecosystem has grown to encompass all areas of networking, collaboration, and productivity, removing the barriers between you and where you want to go.

David Carmell

Founder

David Carmell is a passionate entrepreneur and top 50 global fintech thought leader who felt there had to be a better way to launch businesses and ventures. As the CEO/Founder of both STARTUP ROCKiT and DEALROCKiT, David knows firsthand the unnecessary deterrents and barriers faced by community members. Frustrated by a broken system, David set out to create a self-driving "I can take it from here" solution that allows people worldwide to take control of their financial futures. No more not knowing where and how to begin or lacking the access and connections to launch, grow, or invest in a business or side hustle. STARTUP ROCKiT's novel technologies and inclusive platform remove the barriers between you and where you want to go.

David Meltzer is the CEO of Sports 1 Marketing, and formerly served as CEO of the renowned Leigh Steinberg Sports & Entertainment agency, which was the inspiration for the movie Jerry Maguire. He is a three-time international best-selling author, a Top 100 Business Coach, the executive producer of Entrepreneur's #1 digital business show, Elevator Pitch, and host of the top entrepreneur podcast, The Playbook. His newest book, Game-Time Decision Making, was a #1 new release, David has been recognized by Variety Magazine as their Sports Humanitarian of the Year and awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

David started the group GTIF Capital and is partnered with several major businesses in the E Sports, Technology, health care, brand and real-estate sector. In the last several years, David has spoken at multiple universities including University of Houston, WVU, and SMU as a commencement speaker. David is currently pioneering an Esports Capstone class at Lambton College. David has also worked with Planters Peanuts on their recent Super Bowl commercial with FaZe members Apex and Adapt, actor Charlie Sheen, and baseball star Alex Rodriguez. David sits on several boards including Mediabundance, Faze Clan, and the North American Collegiate League.
